I led the design and development of the Podio 2 riding jacket, taking it from concept through to final production. This project involved crafting a jacket with a dynamic, NASCAR-inspired aesthetic that also prioritized functional airflow, featuring strategically placed hard mesh panels in high-heat zones like the underarms, chest, and back to prevent the 'ballooning' effect at high speeds and ensure rider comfort during summer rides. For enhanced protection, the jacket is equipped with CE Level 2-rated armor at the shoulders, elbows, and back. This high-standard armor significantly reduces impact forces, offering superior protection. CE Level 2 armor is tested to absorb more impact energy, which reduces transmitted force to critical areas, making it ideal for high-speed riding and offering riders increased safety in case of an accident. The integration of this advanced armor ensures that the jacket not only meets but exceeds standard protection requirements, providing peace of mind for riders seeking reliable protective gear.
